Surrender Policy
Thank you for bringing your animal to Snake Discovery. We will evaluate your animal for possible placement. Every effort will be made to place your animal in a good home. Animals may be humanely euthanized if health problems are too severe.
By placing your animal with us you will forfeit all rights, title and interest in the animal to Snake Discovery. We cannot answer inquiries as to the disposition or whereabouts of the animal after being adopted. We ask for a small adoption fee to cover health costs associated with surrendered animals.
As owner, or as custodian acting in good faith, I irrevocably give the following animal(s) to Snake Discovery.

Snake Discovery Adoption Agreement
Thank you for adopting an animal from Snake Discovery! By submitting and signing this adoption agreement, you agree to the following to be eligible to adopt an animal.
Provide proper housing, food, lighting and temperature requirements for the species.
Even the most docile animals may scratch or bite a person when distressed.
Snake Discovery does not make any guarantees regarding sex, age, nature, temperament, genetics, or health of this pet.
I will practice proper biosecurity, including quarantining new animals and washing hands after interacting with animals and/or their equipment.
All future medical and health maintenance and treatments are my responsibility. I will seek immediate veterinary care if this pet becomes ill or injured, for the lifetime of the pet.
Snake Discovery is not responsible for the legality of this animal in my community.
I will supervise interactions between the animal and other people, including young children, until they can interact safely and respectfully.
I am over 18 years old. Adopters under 18 require a parent or legal guardian's signature.
On behalf of myself, my heirs, assignees, guardians, personal and legal representatives, and executors, I release, discharge, hold harmless, and indemnify Snake Discovery, its members, employees, volunteers, and affiliated organizations for claims, demands, losses, costs, liabilities, settlement agreements, damages, and expenses connected with activities covered by this agreement.

Existing Animal Import
One-time launch migration for animals that were already in Snake Discovery Rescue before this app went live.
Migration tool: This creates a normal Rescue animal and surrender record, but preserves the original surrender date. The animal then goes through the normal Initial Health Inspection, photo upload, and normal Lightspeed R-Series item creation. Historical automatic intake treatments are intentionally skipped.
